A volume in Tuck’s ‘Golden Treasury Library’ series. Published in the 1920s/early 1930s, titles originally came with a dustwrapper and bound in red, green or blue cloth. Difficult to date accurately without a helpful contemporary ownership inscription.

Hardback – publisher’s cloth with inlay label/plate to front board, gilt title to spine. pp 288, [8] publisher’s catalogue, including b/w illustrations plus six colour plates. 7.75 x 5.25 inches approx. (197mm x 135mm).

Light wear and rubbing to covers; crushing to spine ends; boards bumped to corners, especially front lower; sunned/faded to spine and rear board; inlay plate a little scratched. Endpapers dusty and foxed, creasing to front free-endpaper and signs of an erased pencilled name to paste-down; scattered foxing/staining and some dustiness throughout but generally pages clean; edges of page-block spotted/foxed with some encroachment on to page margins.

Overall, showing some wear but otherwise a nice, clean copy – attractive.
